Project 3000: Finding the causes of and treatment for Leber Congenital Amerosis (LCA)

Every once in a while we get a project that really touches our hearts and Project 3000 is one of those. Project 3000 is a national grass roots effort created by Chicago Cubs star Derrek Lee, Boston Celtics CEO and co-owner Wyc Grousbeck, and the Carver Lab at the University of Iowa. Both men, and their families are committed raising awareness and helping researchers find a cure. Before their partnership there was not a lot of awareness about LCA as the disease is very rare and only affects about 3000 people in the United States today. Unfortunately the disease affects mostly children and eventually leads to blindness. Project 3000 is funded almost entirely by donations and therefore needed a brochure that could be used not only for fundraising but also as a tool to inform people affected with LCA of the services Project 3000 provides.

Project 3000's leaders wanted to communicate the seriousness of the disease but also convey the hope generated by the current research. Page Design took this information and came up with several ideas that visually communicated the idea of "Believe the Unseen," Project 3000's tag line. "Believe the Unseen" encompasses many of Project 3000's core beliefs and inspired all sorts of imagery. We almost always provide three to five ideas for a client to choose from. Sometimes it is an easy decision, and sometimes it takes several rounds of changes to get the final results. Below you can view the final brochure and folder, as well as several of the designs that were not picked but were also good solutions.
