Heather (The Hammer) Orr-Martinez

Heather is married to her passion for art and design…oh, and don't forget her husband Craig. Formally trained on the mean streets of Chico, she gained an appreciation for fine art which she incorporates into her packaging design and brand identity whenever possible. On weekends she can be spotted throwing sticks for her dogs Rosie and Bart at the Sacramento River or at any number of downtown bookstores or restaurants with Craig. Her suggestion for good eats in Sacramento: "Don't shy away from Broadway, some of the best restaurants in Sacramento can be found there!"

Q) What is your favorite software to use and why?
A) Illustrator, because it is way cool!

Q) What is your least favorite software to use and why?
A) I would have to say undoubtedly, absolutely, a without reservation Microsoft WORD! If I could remove it from every computer out there I would.

Q) What do you like to bring for lunch?
A) Nothing, I like to go out!

Q) When did you last "break the rules" and what where they?
A) I think I wrote in Paul's calendar with pen the other day…

Q) Do you play an instrument?
A) Over the course of my life I have picked up the guitar, piano and drums… not that I am proficient at any of them. Sitting at my house waiting patiently to be learned is the Mandolin.

Q) A party is not a party without …?
A) A piñata!

Q) Tell us about a guilty pleasure you have.
A) Round Table pizza, a six pack of Corona and a good bad movie!

Q) What is your favorite typeface?
A) As a designer how can you? It is like asking a parent which of their kids they like the best!

Q) How do you take your coffee?
A) With very little coffee.

Q) Do you have a favorite design tip you would like to share?
